➢ In Hill Zone, continue nursery sowing/ transplanting of Sali rice. Weather is favourable for attack of fruit fly, aphid and Red pumpkin beetle insects in vegetable crops. To control the insects attack, spray with Malathion 50 EC @ 2 ml per litre of water in clear weather.
➢ In Lower Brahmaputra Valley Zone, due to heavy rainfall, Sali rice nursery bed got affected due to water stagnation in the bed, drain out rain water from the nursery bed immediately to save the seedling. Undertake transplanting specially in the upland by taking the advantages of rain water. Weather is favourable for jute hairy caterpillar and semi looper in jute crop, spray Quinalphos 25 EC @ 2 ml per litre of water or Monocrotophos 40 EC 1.5 ml per litre of water 3 times, starting from mid June at 15 days interval or from first appearance of the pests, preferably upper portion of the plant in clear weather.
➢ In Upper Brahmaputra Valley Zone, continue nursery sowing of Sali rice and main field preparation for transplanting of Sali rice. Farmers who have not yet sown the seeds of long duration Sali rice varieties in the nurseries, should complete sowing as early as possible. Prior to sowing treat the seeds with fungicides like Carboxin, Glyodin or Nabam. Undertake land preparation for sowing of sesamum and planting of black pepper cuttings. Present weather is favorable for shoot borer infestation in sugarcane crop, burying or burning the infested canes may be done. Proper earthing up will reduce the shoot borer infestation.
➢ In Barak Valley Zone, continue main field preparation for transplanting of Sali rice. Provide earthing up and proper drainage channels in okra/ bhindi field. Undertake planting of pineapple.
➢ In Central Brahmaputra Valley Zone, complete nursery sowing of long duration Sali rice varieties. Continue transplanting of Sali rice. Postponed sowing of kharif sesame and arhar under the continuous rain condition. Undertake harvesting of Capsularis jute.
➢ In North Bank Plain Zone, continue nursery sowing/ main field preparation/ transplanting of Sali rice. Farmers are advised to go for stripping and propping operation in sugarcane crop i.e. mechanical support to avoid crop lodging due to strong winds. To control red rot disease in sugarcane, avoid water stagnation in the field and rouging of the affected plants should be practiced. To control Rhizome rot disease in ginger, drenched the affected area with 0.3% Mancozeb 75 WP @ 2g/l of water in clear weather.
