➢ In Saurashtra and Kutch, undertake soil mulching by intercultural operation to remove weeds and to prevent moisture loss due to evaporation, where sowing of kharif crops is done. In remaining areas, after receipt of sufficient rainfall, undertake sowing of groundnut, sesame, green gram, black gram, pearl millet, cow pea and cotton crops. Continue nursery preparation of tomato, chilli, brinjal, early cauliflower and sowing of cucurbits, cluster bean, ladyfinger, kidney bean, amranthus, where sufficient soil moisture condition is available. Maintain optimum moisture level in cucurbitaceous crops by light and frequent irrigation. Adopt intercropping of sesame, groundnut, soybean, pulses and maize in cotton crop for risk management under rainfed & partial irrigation.
➢ In North Gujarat, carry out threshing of groundnut and pearl millet crops and store the harvested produce at safe places. After receipt of sufficient rainfall, undertake sowing of green gram, groundnut, pearl millet, maize, cow pea, pigeon pea and hybrid cotton/Bt cotton. Undertake nursery sowing of vegetable crops like chilli, tomato and brinjal. Harvest matured fruits of mango, papaya, sapota, lemon, pomegranate etc. Undertake planting of horticultural crops.
➢ In South Gujarat, continue nursery sowing of rice; prepare the main filed for transplanting. After receipt of sufficient rainfall, undertake sowing of pigeon pea (early maturing varieties) and cotton crop.
➢ In Middle Gujarat, undertake intercultural operations at wapsa condition in already sown crop. After receipt of sufficient rainfall, undertake sowing of cotton, green gram, black gram, pigeon pea, pearl millet etc. Undertake nursery sowing of vegetable crops, tobacco and rice.
