Sub-Himalayan West Bengal:
➢ In Hill Zone, prepare main field for transplanting of kharif rice, apply FYM @ 190 kg per 5 decimals at the time of field preparation, Urea @ 26.3 kg, SSP @ 36.5 kg and MOP @ 10.25 kg per 5 decimals; transplant 16-21 days old seedlings. Postpone sowing for soybean if not completed in the last week, as heavy rainfall is predicted in upcoming 5days. Ginger is at vegetative stage; undertake weeding.
➢ In Old Alluvial Zone, complete main field preparation for transplanting of kharif rice within next week; apply 1/3rd of total Urea, full doses of Super phosphate (SSP) and Potash (MOP) at the time of final puddling. Maintain proper drainage channel in jute field. Prepare nursery for early cauliflower, tomato, chilli and brinjal.
➢ In Terai Zone, prepare nursery for kharif rice and collect good quality seeds. To prevent sucking pest in green gram, spray Acephate 25% + Fenvalerate 3% @ 1.5 g per litre of water in clear weather. To control fruit and shoot borer in okra, remove and burn all the infected plant parts; install light and Pheromone trap 1-2 per bigha.
Gangetic West Bengal:
➢ In Coastal Saline Zone, complete sowing of wet seeded aman rice; apply seed treatment with Trycyclozole or Carbendazim before sowing. Drain out the excess water from base and cover the tender vegetables with transparent poly pack to prevent sucking pest.
➢ In Laterite and Red Soil Zone, collect good quality certified seeds for sowing of kharif groundnut; apply systemic fungicides before sowing. Apply seed treatment in rice if necessary; spray Tricyclazole 75% @ 1.5 g per 1.5 litre of water if fungal infection occurs. Apply Spinosad 45 EC @ 0.2 ml or Cartap Hydrochloride @ 0.75 g per litre of water in brinjal after cessation of rain.
➢ In New Alluvial Zone, prepare nursery for chilli, kharif cucurbits, brinjal and early cauliflower. Prepare land for kharif rice nursery. Maintain proper drainage to avoid water logging in case of continuous rain; apply Fipronil 5SC @2ml per litre of water or Thiomethoxam @ 0.4g per litre of water.
